Texas

No clue. Most of my crowd is in it for the eggs. Small birds give small eggs. I've got quail for that.
Swedish flowers are pretty. I'm sure someone would be interested.

If you would have fun doing this, go for it. One day, I'll be breeding chickens.
Well I'm gonna have 7 seperate coops/runs. Which will include some wyandottes and brahmas and a few others. So I'm assuming if they wanted good sized egg layers they'd be asking for those chicks/eggs haha. I bred quail for 3 years. But this is technically my first go breeding chickens. I have my polish eggs in the incubator right now. Along with the eggs I bought.

I'll have more different pics of different baby in a few weeks....

STAY TUNED

Ok I need advice, opinions.
6 baby chicks-week old this Wed, and in a plastic tote. I have a 2x4 ft dog kennel to put them in next. First in garage (safe) then onto back porch, how can I predator proof (against raccoons mainly) while on back porch--or do I need to? Cage is 2 in by 4 in welded wire.
Currently while my big coop is still in creation my adult pair of chickens is in 2 metal xl dog crates and we haven't had issues. That being said since babies are a bit more fragile and maybe even able to escape those gaps you could just wrap half inch of 1/4 in hardware wire around the bottom.

You need to predator proof on the porch. I get raccoons on my patio and I have a 6 ft privacy fence and two dogs.

I am totally and completely whooped. Yesterday was a day from he**.
Burned my chicken and my thumb, tractor-no go-freeze got the battery. OK I'll mow the yard-belt broke before I got 1/2 of first row cut.
Go to town, get battery for tractor-took 4 stops to find it. Got belt for mower. Come home-wrong belt-back to town....
Today get belt on mower, battery in tractor. Finally, get downed tree limbs cut loaded on tractor, hauled to back pasture (3 trips), raked and loaded leaves, hauled to back pasture (2 trips).
More to tell later..
Tomorrow, mow
