Too cool!!! The last time I saw #4014 I was about 6 years old. It was at Union Station in Dallas. My grandmother was on it and we were picking her up at the station.
My dad told me to go stand by the platform where the engine would stop...he didn't tell me that they would blow off the steam there!!!!
The rumbling of the engine was tremendous, the whole platform was shaking. Just way cool!!!!

Look at all the moisture this sucker (no pun intended) is pulling into it!!!! Look at the cloud formation coming off the mountain tops on the Antilles.

Time to mow again. I have mowed more this year than I ever have. Usually, by now, everything is dry and brown with no rain for weeks.
This year has been different, week of snow in March, weekly (almost daily) showers. Everything green
It has not hit 100 this year

I’m feeling semi-nostalgic…

Well, haven't done much since yesterday. About 7:30 got a call from Sheriff office to "shelter in place"- active shooter in area. About 3/4 mile away. Seems deputy was serving a warrant and the person wasn't happy about it. He shot the deputy!
Highway is closed. If we leave, we will not be able to get back in thru barricade.
So......we are hunkered down, weapons close at hand.
To be so isolated, there is too much drama here for me.....

Yup
Local "hicks".
Last march-2 county car chase down our dead end road. We are end of road-car hit tree driver fled followed by 30+ cop cars.
Driver came INTO house, running from garage, hollering as we went OUT front door-into 30+ armed cops running towards us.
They detained driver, spread eagle on living room floor (cop on back and 1 on each arm/leg with 4 more in dining room and 10 or so on porch at front door and window.
They searched entire house and all out buildings (including coop) for the passenger (?) Which they never found.
Now this ......too much drama!
Oh! Last year they found a body about 1/4 mile down road.
She had been beaten and killed in Rockdale then body brought here and burned.
Owner of property saw guy on property-then saw person of interest on news.....that looked like guy on property-it was. 4 arrested 2 so far on death row.
Sometimes isolated is not so good
