Texas

Gotta issue sorta.
I want to clean some of the mulch out of chicken run.
What can I DO with mulch.
All my flowerbeds are fully mulched
can i just spred it on yard?
i know someone that owns 100 acres and grows everything. He also has chickens, pigs, goats etc...
I offered mulch to him for his vegetables.
I got a hard solid NO from him
So what to do with mulch
I put it around fruit trees. I've also scattered in the yard to feed the grass. Goes well everywhere.

Other option is to make a fence circle composter and fill up the composter for the winter and let the mulch compost. Leaves and chicken droppings make quick compost.

I started with a small plastic 24”x24”x36”tall comport box with a latching lid…
Filled it in less than 1 year..

Next year started to gather free pallet panels from TSC. Then made a “large compost bin” …

I moved them both at the beginning of spring from next to the fence & coop to out and down from the back corner of the yard. The red arrow is pointing to BOTH of them.
Front one is a 6’ x 6’ x5’ tall that was 3/4 full when I moved it and flipped it.
Rear one os a 4’ x ~9’ x4” tall that is ~90% full

If you can see it, the front of the short one is splitting, bowed out and May break open over winter. It will get repaired, moved and flipped in the spring.

I'll wire 4 pallets together and will it with yard waste, branches, kitchen scraps and coop bedding. It doesn't take long to get full. The wire is easy to undo. Another 4 pallets and start the next one.

After a year, I'll open it and the chickens will mix, pick and shred. I'll sift it and use it in the garden. I have a 2'x4' frame with 1/2" hardware cloth on it. Fits nicely over the wheelbarrow. They inspect everything and confiscate any seeds, grub, bugs or tasty bits.

Yeah, been raining here most of the night.
Just cooking for myself....turkey breast...since my myocardial infraction, I have gone Carnivore only. Beef, bacon, butter, ....eating 'nose to tail'!!!! Also, fish and shellfish and poultry.

Quit smoking.... that was easy, quitting sugar and carbohydrates, not easy at all. :th

Finally, just went through the cupboards and fridge and threw out all the sugar and carbo's.
Still have 1 sugar weakness....bananas. Oh well, at least im getting plenty of potassium!
