Where are my weather peeps. This storm just showed up put of nowhere.
It's been wicked lightning window rattling thunder (house shaking) , since 8:30 -3 hours and counting. The dog came inside-he never does that. The cats are buried under the bed-and I'm seriously considering joining them

The weather I have been watching was *all below severe worry status* across DFW.

We ended up with 1.35” of rain so far yesterday. We had one really heavy downpour early in the morning that was so beautiful sounding too. Local Denton station recorded 1.83” so yeah…. Like goes on.

Oh and I finally got the shed off the trailer before this cold front rolled through with all this rain.

I got a solid 4 1/2" of rain. Finally quieted down a little after midnight, and got woke up at 4:30 with round 5/6 , so 4 inches of rain and 4 hrs sleep. Everything soaked, including coop interior, nesting boxes, carport .......

Same here, got 4.5"....it started about 8:15pm and didn't stop until 3:30am.

It was ugly. I believe the worst lightning storm I've ever experienced. Lightning hit an oil well tank close by, it exploded and burned.

Cooks Point VFD;We were paged out last night around 11:30 for a fire at a oil well site off of County Road 205.
One fiberglass tank and one metal tank were destroyed by the fire which was started by a lightning strike. Thank You to Caldwell VFD for mutual aid.

I added some clear plastic to back of coop, to block rain. This is temporary, need to figure a permanent solution. Ideas?

With it being Texas, 80+⁰ 9 months of the year, I didn't/don't want a closed in box coop. And my mistake was not extending overhang more.
