Texas

I should be happy for rain here in Central TX, but this is literally putting a huge damper on my coop construction. 😐
Could be worse. You could live on the coast and be under water! Also I have ankle deep water in the new coop we put together because of the tropical storm.

Yep! I have about 3" of standing water in my pens and they are on a hill and an incline!

My husband was contacted today about 3 roosters being ditched at their house. One was hit by a car, but the other 2 were okay. The remaining 2 are a Buff Orpington and this one, a barnyard mix. I am thinking of keeping the Buff Orpington, but that is to be decided.

He is in good health and free to a good home.

In DFW area, message if interested!

Any time someone says chickens are weird, I will remember this story as a reminder that human behavior is infinitely more weird.
Who thinks that dropping off a bunch of roosters at a strangers' house, one of which barely escaped being roadkill, is acceptable?

I agree. It is horrible to do that. The person whosr house they were dropped at told us that the roosters perched on their porch every night.

No animal deserves to be abandoned. Chickens were not made to live in the wild. I am hoping to find him a new home because I can only have so many roosters, but I couldn't say no to helping these poor things.
