I had no clue either, crazy! So we just checked our game camera photos and there's a peacock in our woods?!
Had to Google it. Apparently wild peacocks are a thing in Texas. I had no clue!

Tis the season, lol. I have a few molting now; others molted a couple months ago. It's just a part of having chickens. I have one lady that always seems to wait until it gets cold then drops her feathers crazy fast.Have anyone else’s hens been in a heavy moult? Our blue stars and barred rocks look pitiful with no tail feathers and naked necks!
Feathers feathers everywhere!
Lucky you! I've never had one show up but I have a friend who had three living in the woods nearby for several years. So we just checked our game camera photos and there's a peacock in our woods?!

Scruffy cranky hens and apparently determined to drag it out as long as possible with staggered starts. Really girls, you're all the same age why is this one just now starting when that one started a month ago?! Nobody is getting sweaters when the cold front blows in!Have anyone else’s hens been in a heavy moult? Our blue stars and barred rocks look pitiful with no tail feathers and naked necks!

That's all you need.. a bunch of naked sunburned chickens in August. Extra crispy!Scruffy cranky hens and apparently determined to drag it out as long as possible with staggered starts. I would think they'd be better off moulting in August when it's hotter than blazes, who needs feathers then?
They can compare tan lines! That's all you need.. a bunch of naked sunburned chickens in August. Extra crispy!
