Hi Tim,
Sorry if this is a really dumb question but this is all new to me. Is there a Poultry Show at the state fair? The one in Dallas with Big Tex and Football?

Thanks
Kim

Yes, this year it is the weekend after Texas beats OU. Oct 10-11. Its usually a really good show. Just another reason to go to the fair!

I was really happy about getting rain but i swear if it doesn't stop soon I'm gonna float away. my poor chickens have been inside the coop for 2 days now and every time they come out they look so miserable. I shut my silkies in because they seemed to get lost in the run and couldn't figure out how to get back in the coop. they were just huddled together in a corner of the run all droopy feathered. I think its the first time they could see really clear because all their feathers were flat.

EVERYTHING is wet, I got stuck in my driveway last night, after having to drive home at 25 mph. My neighbors chickens, being coop-less are roosting under my trailer on 4*4 I put under there for them. The came out begging for food this morning when I let the dog out. I really wanted to start building my coop today too

LOL......well we got what we asked for!!!
Hermine has been VERY generous with the rain, (my area has gotten between 6 - 7 inches so far) and cooler temps. Weather person said we were now where we should be with the rainfall for the year. The ponds are all full and the hay crops will really get a boost for the last cutting. Pulled out my wellies for the first time in a while, everything is squishy and muddy.
My poor girls have stayed in the coop for 2 days now, but it's nice to see they aren't having to pant in the middle of the day to stay cool. I was able to turn the coop fan down to the low setting.......it's been running on high speed for 2 months. Summer is starting to break up. YES!!!!
