Nope .. I had big cardboard boxes in DD12s walk in closet .. with a brooder light .. we were changing those boxes out every other day there at the end .. it was funny. I had 27 eggs in the bator and could NOT believe 23 of them hatched.. only when you really ARE NOT ready does THAT happen..

It was an experience..

things go out hands sometimes is like when you ran out coops and hens don't stop hatching eggs

Good afternoon All !

I just started reading this thread, and felt I should say hi!! I am in Normagee, about 35 miles from Bryan/College Station. I just learned we are going to be having a Poultry Show near by! How wonderful is that?? I am new to chickens, and have never been to a poulty show in my life. I guess the closest I have been to one, is at county fairs. I think this could be very educational. I have only seen pictures of most breeds, and would love to see some live. I have just started a second flock of Delawares, and I am sooo impressed with how friendly they are!
I don't have any show quality birds, as they all came from 2 different hatcheries. But I would love to learn more about Chicken business. I have to find a way to make these girls pay for themselves, so DH will be more tolerant of my chicken math....

We're up in DFW and the only poultry show we've been to was the Stock Show in FtW last year... hope to go again this year as we had a blast. And, we didn't didn't even have chickens ourselves yet but I really had to restrain myself when the "Ameraucana" laid a green egg. Guess once the chicken bug bites you you're toast.

I think Dels are very very pretty, but can't tell when chicks if they're males... and no Roos allowed here... so we went with Gold Sex Links just to be safe. SO cool that you got such a nifty breed... there IS a Del Breed Thread... just ripe for some more pictures... *nudge*

I have seen the thread, but haven't posted any pics as yet... ( note the yet!) I have to use my DH 'puter when I download pics from the camera. Not sure why, but about a year ago, it stopped reading the camera on my 'puter. Not that it's impossible, but not as handy fer sure. I guess I am looking for an excuse not too ha ha
