A neighbor of mine brought me back 2 RIRs from Canton (he purchased 10 more). I'm not impressed with the breeder that he purchased them from. The beaks of the hens had been trimmed. I'm NOT fond of this practice and had I known this in advance I would not have had him get me any.
I prefer "local breeders" that don't trim beaks. They seem to be genuinely intersted in the welfare of the birds and less interested in how many they can keep in tight quarters and sell.
On a brighter note..... it was ONLY 104 today!!!! A cold front must have blown in while I napped!
