They have already started animal validation. We bought tags for the pigs in March and the next weekend is. Pig and Steer validation in Grapevine. Check with your local 4H extension. So far we will have have 2 pigs, 2 heifers and 9 chickens at the Texas State Fair in October

Nice set up, can I ask where you got the fan? My chickies are only 4 1/2 weeks old but the wading pool your talking about I think is a great idea and I already have frozen 2 liter bottles in my freezer., I'm new at this, but learning a lot here on BYC. It's a good thing my oldest sister raised chickens for about 40 years. She helped us with our chicken yard.

Thanks to family and BYC. I'm loving the my chickens and to my great surprise so is my husband.

Chickens aren't even coming out of the coop except for a little in the morning and evening cuz the coop is cooler than outside - even with shade.

Wow that's crazy! I have noticed the ducks staying behind more often as well.

Hubby just added a mister in the yard for my poor babies...little to no shade and 102 temps suck! We planted baby trees...hope they grow fast!
