Ok, what about leaving the building where it is but move the wall on the fence side in 4 inches?
so you have moved the coop 4 inches away by collapsing it a bit away from the fence?

edited to say:
just read the whole thread and saw lots of folks already mentioned this idea
LOVE that someone helped you out with a chicken tractor
AWESOME

Read the whole post. I love BYC and most the people on it!!! Love a happy ending. I cant keep chickens in my city. But I can ducks pheasants and lots of other critters. To Ozzchicken Thanks for your service and God bless.

I'm a big fan of bagpipe music when neighbors are being difficult.

Just had to post and say I'm so glad that this has been solved. Great news! Some folks are jerks, but there's enough good ones in places like BYC to remind me it's not everyone.

Thank you for your service ozzchicken. and thank you for helping Major & Mrs Mark ---.

Wow.

I just have to say, reading this post, every word, this morning has really moved me. I was angry, REALLY ticked, then I got hopeful, overwhelmed with pride, crying, calling my DH to read some of it to him...

Ozz, thanks for your committed service to this country. My father was a Vietnam vet. Hard core combat. He suffered PTSD. My brother served USMC and committed to three combat tours in Iraq. My heart goes out to all who put themselves in harm's way for the benefit of others.

But sticking to the theme of this forum, BYC... you all are great! The outpouring of advice and offerings of assistance... to just plain Gettin it Done.

I was thinking about the slicing off 4.5" as well. That'd been my suggestion.

But wow.

I just love all the posts about how to get back at the nasty neighbor. I say go for it ozz. I really like the barking dog idea. And you could get recordings of guinea's and peacocks and play that too. And not get in trouble for having them.

I suppose by word of mouth, asking around, Craig's List, a sign at the local feed store, the VA. Other ideas, bright BYCers?

It would be fun to post pictures and a little snipped of the coops and birds we've given to the vets.

I like this idea very much!

If you folks are serious about doing a project like this, count me in. I am an Iraq veteran, I have PTSD, and I am doing my research and planning to get chickens...I honestly hadn't thought of the fact that they might be a healthy hobby for me, I just thought it would be cool.

But anyway, at least in my area (South Dakota) I would know how to get in touch with veterans who might be interested. I haven't got coop-building or chicken-keeping experience yet, but that will come with time, and I know where to go for advice

. And starting this fall I have a little time for volunteering, since I will be doing the "stay at home mom" thing.

Awesome!

I'd really like OzzChicken to give his blessings and allow us to use his handle for this project.

OzzChicken! Where are you?!
