Oh!! This is beautiful then! (I mean, sorry that you have PTSD.) BUT! *light bulb moment* You can request a "reasonable accomodation", NO?!! Have you talked with a pro bono attorney? (Try calling the local law school.)

Also, why would they want a "foundation" for your coop when you can provided "evidence" (and I'm sure we would all help you) that a "foundation" is NOT healthy for chickens, etc., etc.

Oooh, let's win this fight with you!

Chickens are sooo relaxing. I have sold chickens to people JUST for that purpose. A retired airline pilot being one. His wife and mother called me to tell me what a difference having this chickens "to watch" made.

HANG IN THERE!!!

(After you win your chickens, ask someone here to mail you a bottle of mites as a "gift" for your neighbor! Just teasing, but still . . . what a butt head.)

Thank You for all you have done for our country. It is greatly appreciated. I really hope somehow we can find a solution for your coop. Chickens are great therapy. I know I love watching mine and gardening. Maybe whoever you use for therapy could do a letter for you that they would be part of your therapy for ptsd. Just a thought. Stick around and someone here may come up with an answer for you.

Ooh! YES! A letter! To your representatives and Senator! Waive that serviceman flag and point out the silliness and unreasonableness of their requests (demands) of you! All for what? Wanting to have a chicken or two to help cope. That should raise their ire on your behalf!

Wait......... it was an existing building and it is too close to the line? How is that your fault? Who approved it getting built in the first place? And why does this neighbor all of a sudden have a problem with it now?

it is grandfathered in but since I want to use it for poultry, it is too close by 4 inches,,,,,neighbors can be a pain in the,,, you know what

Anyone in Pennsylvania with a saws-all? Time to go cut 4 1/2 inches off that coop! (and replace the wall with a 1/2" sheet of plywood).

It would be really nice to see this work out for you!

Maybe you could make a tractor and use the shed as storage? Keep 3 hens in a movable house and store everything else in the previous coop? If your property is grand fathered in for birds, who says you have to use the old building?

I would let my neighbor know that I will be replacing the chickens with several howling dogs.
