thank you,,,everyone this is my last post

Hang in there. Check out your state's Right to Farm Acts. Here in Michigan we have some of the best. The local government usually want anyone to know if there are these types of laws. My husband served our country during Desert Storm. We will helpas we can in your fight against the local tyrants! Amazing how people can have barking dogs (myself included) but small flocks of relatively quiet chickens? Contact your local VFW also and have your local paper. You will not only furthur your cause but once again help others. Bless you and thanks

First, thank you for your service.
Second, I would seriously consider remodeling the existing structure and cut off the 4 1/2 inches and rebuild the one wall! Is this possible?

I'm sorry you are having so much trouble. I hope you stay, even if you don't have chickens right now.

I have one other idea. Have you considered getting a few less chickens and just putting a smaller coop in your yard? Maybe even a little portable coop? You shouldn't need a foundation if it's not a walk-in coop. You could still have the enjoyment of chickens. You could still use your run with it. It would give you time to sort out the issues with your shed. You could even take it with you, if you do get to move.

I hope you can work something out.

Chicken tractor!!!! Excellent! it can be a small one, and movable, and parked 4 inches from your neighbor's line.....

What if you left the existing wall, but built a false back wall that was four inches away from the outside wall? It would just insulate the coop more, warmer in winter ,cooler in summer. And the chickens would be 4" further from the property line, and the building would be stronger than ever.

Yes this is possible. Even if you have corner studs in the existing building you can put new one's in and dismantal the back/side wall that is an issue and either plywood it up or use the matarials that you removed to redo the wall. If it were me i would reframe the end getting shaved off first and then cut off the excess. I bet one of those handy oscillating saws would work perfectly in tight corners to get precise cuts.

If needed or wanted for a good laugh at the neighbors expence you could even leave the top half of that wall open and just wire it in against predators so they hear every egg song, cluck, and crow loud and clear!!!!

Here is a link to the local TV station http://www.wfmz.com/station/21994236/detail.html I think we should all email them about what is happening. You know there is strength in numbers. We can overcome this with you. You have served our country now its time for your country to serve you! I cant say what your nieghbor is this is a family forum. I just hate it when people cant mind their own business
