thank you,,,everyone this is my last post

You can petition the sate and ask them for an exception because of your PTSD and them being part of your treatment. And you should ell your neighbor to move. far far away. I mean seriously, what kind of neighbor does that to a retired veteran who just wants chickens. If they were my neighbors, I would buy the chickens, and then the eggs they lay, use those to egg their house :hmm (not really)

Thank you for your service!!!

Thank you for staying and giving us the chance to try to figure out a fix to your coop legal issue. We all love the opportunity to "infect" a new recruit with our chicken addiction--and they *are* a wonderful diversion. The Plymouth Rocks are the most diverting (in a good way) so far!

Thank you for your service and good night for now.

scratch'n'peck :

Here is a link to the local TV station http://www.wfmz.com/station/21994236/detail.html I think we should all email them about what is happening. You know there is strength in numbers. We can overcome this with you. You have served our country now its time for your country to serve you! I cant say what your nieghbor is this is a family forum. I just hate it when people cant mind their own business I am fortunate to have great neighbors. Please stay here we can figure out something.

I want to make sure you don't mind folks emailing the local TV station about this story before I do it.

I'm glad you won't let this frustration keep you from trying to keep chickens.

I checked out the photos of your coop, and i think you did a great job. It seems so silly that you would be required to put in a foundation if you moved it.

Yes please let us know if you are ok with us emailing because if you are I will be on it like a fly on you know what!!!!!

Woohoo BYC members unite for one of our own!!!!

sorry i didn't have time to read this whole thread so please forgive me if this has been said already or if it's no longer relevant -- but could you divide the coop slightly, like put in a thin basic wall with a door 4 inches inside the outer wall, so that the actual area that the chickens will be in is 4 inches farther away without moving the coop? if that makes sense

just make a tiny 4" wide "room" before the coop, hang some tiny plants and tools on the wall and call it "storage" instead of coop.

[straw]

build on the inside of the current building a partition, make a closet in the back that is separate (and noise reducing) store food there, then maybe the 'chicken coop' part is more then four inches away?

[/straws]

like a building in a building...

a dog house inside a garage does not make a garage a dog kennel, its purpose it to store crap, or cars... or whatever... so a little coop in a biger building will not make the bigger building a poultry house...???????

Hello, My husband is a retired SEABEE and I am a retired Nurse Corps Commander. He can remodel anything and move anything!!! We will come to your house and fix your coop however you would like it done. No charge whatsoever. Just pay for materials. We can keep it reasonable if necessary. We have both been in harms way at different times in our career. He spent time in Iraq. We would love to give you a hand. If other BYC'ers in your area can come lend a hand it would be even better!! We can have a big construction/moving party! Let me know if we can help!

This is why I love BYC. To see everyone encourage and offer to help people is so awesome. You are all wonderful people.
