thank you,,,everyone this is my last post

Grrrr this makes me angry!!! We treat our service members like this. I would like your regional building departments number or whoever you dealt with and your neighbors phone number so I can call them and tell them the next time we go to war maybe they ought to step their mean little butts up there and take a few hits for their country. Like speckledhen said you can still stay and chat. We are good therapy!!! And most of all THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!!! This girl appreciates it 100%!!!

I am so sorry to hear about this. It says something very disturbing about some of the people in this world. I have been so fortunate to have had fantastic neighbors my whole life, that I forget there are people like that out there. I just can't believe that people can be so petty, and the powers that be in your town don't know enough that some rules don't have to be followed to the letter. You should still hang around on here and learn what you can, you never know, something may come up where you can keep chickens. Good luck to you!

can you renovate so that your coop is four inches shorter ( shorten the side next to your property line). This wouldn't be anew structure, just remodeling an existing structure.........??
Just a thought.

NO! Don't leave us!

Dratted neighbor! Chickens really are wonderfully entertaining and relaxing to watch running around--chasing a bug, scratching among your prized perennials--throwing your carefully fluffed mulch onto your clean sidewalks...

Truly, they ARE great fun, and so far the personalities and inquisitiveness of the Plymouth Rocks are my favorite by far.

Please don't leave us, and don't give up yet. I don't have PTSD but I have some kind of adjustment disorder that causes anxiety and other stuff. Please let us try to brainstorm a solution for you. The neighbor is being a jerk-don't let them win.

Thank you for your service... and so sorry that you have such not nice neighbors. Never thought of chickens for PTSD but it makes a lot of sense... for myself, I can just feel my blood pressure come down as I sit and watch my flock free-ranging. Wish I had a solution for you. Are these people even willing to talk about it? I hope that sometime in the near future you will be able to keep a little flock. Thank you again!

So, jack up the building, move the coop forward 4 inches and pour a foundation under it. Set building on top. Shouldn't cost much more than a privacy fence. Or as other have said "Shave off 4 inches on property line side." Just don't leave the forum. We will try to help.

I was thinking the same thing! How difficult would it be to shave 4" off your coop?

Thought the same... worth considering.

Or how about a write in campainge to your city counsel from your BYC friends around the country? Local publicity? Maybe a friend could call a local paper to tell them about your dilema...
