Yep. I'm about to poke myself for my dinner actually.

I got my niece over fear of being poked with hers. Poor girl wouldn’t go anywhere because she couldn’t give herself the shot. Her POS mom hooked the needle every time.
I gave her the shot and she was still cringing waiting for it to sting.

Diabetes sucks.

It definitely took some getting used to. I remember absolutely hating the syringes and taking goodness knows how many deep breaths before poking myself. It's still not exactly fun, but I don't mind it anymore.

Once she realized it was possible without pain, she was all about learning from me how to do it. I gave her one shot. She did the rest. Love that girl.

No -- if my sugar is high, then I take it a bit before I eat; if my sugar is low, then I take it after I eat. If it's in range, then I might take it in the middle, or right before.

It's not very fun.
