Thanksgiving Day Hatch, anyone?

If your eggs are white and you could see veins then the full look should be moving ever so slight - a heart beat, might be fuzzy but a movement is generally there. How much movement you can see also depends on how dark the room is(pitch black) and what day of incubation it is. It takes time to learn what you are looking for. Practice is the best teacher I know. Good Luck!!

Thanks justhatchin.... The eggs are that light green color, they are Americannas. My incubation is my japanesse bantam "Jackie".

We candle outside at night. I plan on going back out tonight. Can't tell if I see movement now or not.

I did think I did before the eggs got so full. We are using a LED flashlight too.

Since you are less than a week from hatching, they should be pretty much dark, or 'full' as you put it. You should still be able to see some veins near the air sac. Just shine your light through the big end of the egg. But be careful not to turn the egg when you are doing it!!

Oh, and I hardly ever see movement this close to the hatch, so you might not be able to see it.

Good luck, everybody!!

I have 14 RIRs hatching on Friday, two of which are double yokers, which I'm not thrilled about. I hope at least one makes it out. They were shipped eggs, so I set them, but didn't really want to.
I also have 8 Ameracaunas hatching the same day.
Then, I have 6 of my own eggs hatching next Sunday. They are supposed to be banty partridge cochins, but now I'm worried that they may just be mixed. (RIR roo??)

Here's hoping much success to everyone...
