yep!! they are the wrong ones!!They guy said he would send me some new ones..So this will be my 3rd attempt to hatch some black silkies.. A black silkie will be black..They are born black and stay black.. I sure hope he sends the right ones next time..I really think his blacks are nice..Seems to be the "black silkies quest"

One day I will look out and see some blacks run by my window

I had to pull the first 2 out and stick them in the brooder already, the little monkeys were trying to squeeze themselves between the egg cartons and kept getting stuck upside down

I have another BSL and a barnyard mix sitting in their shells checking everything out. Another pipped silkie and barnyard mix. My back bathroom is really loud right now!!

The 2 in the brooder are sharing it with my 3 week old lone ee/silkie mix, he's on his side of the box separated by a 'fence'. He's not real sure what to think of the little screaming meemees, just struts around with this 'what do you want me to do with that' look.

Had five hatch early - since it was early, I didn't notice the one buff orp baby that fell out of the nest and died

I put the hen and babies in a nest on the floor, now. She has one last egg under her. The four live babies are cochin mixed with buff orp - may be some pure cochins in there. I'll know better when I can get a good look at them. I REALLY wanted some buff orp babies... sucks that the one I got died.

I believe the cochin babies are out of my odd colored cochin hen. (she is a platinum color - sort of a buff and blue mix) Broody hen is a buff orp girl on her first hatch ever - she isn't even a year old.

maybe that last egg will hatch tonight and I'll get a buff orp baby.

i have 2 pips. both are my WLxRIR eggs. still nothing from my silkies, seramas, or OEGBxRIR. i am soo impatient to see my babies all hatched out i am wearing out a trail in the carpet leading to the bator. i am kinda worried that when the WLxRIR hatch they will knock the other eggs around and possibly hurt them. will the flailing around that the standard size chicks do when they hatch hurt the others?
