Thanksgiving Hatch- Anyone want to join in?

alright as of 6am i had 1 WLxRIR almost hatched and i think 8 pips. by 7am it was hatched by 10am i had a new baby serama to add then by 2pm i have all total 6 WLxRIR and 1 serama baby completely hatched

I have my first chick! A spangled OEGB! Only three of the 11 were spangled so I was hoping I would get at least one! Now lets hope its a girl! Several others are pipping and the rest are rocking and chirping, one more is zipping. Looks like everyone will hatch around the same time, hopefully no stragglers!

I have one project bird hatched, one black Jap dead in the shell and one cochin trying to hatch. (that was all that was supposed to hatch today, ...I think).

I went to the coop this afternoon to check on Momma/chickies and collect eggs... I found one of the black bantam chickies dead, poor chickie so I'm only have 4 now.

First time mama, wasn't sure how to keep track of them, I guess. Also lost another baby last night, so out of 6 eggs, 6 live hatches, I have three babies, which I brought inside this morning. I am bummed, but next time I'm gonna put some int he incubator, I guess - bad time of year for them to get lost out of the nest - too cold.

But, I have two cochin/buff orp mutts, and one cochin.

She set on them very well - just needs to learn to keep them near her when they wander at a day old.

I am a little worried about that. My broody has some to hatch this weekend and I worry that she wont keep track of them very good..

Sorry.. Do you think it got to cold.? I am concerned about letting the hen raise mine now that I am reading these posts. They might be better under the brooder , rather than the hen.

I hope everyone had a very nice thanksgiving. We went to my husbands nephew and niece's house. When we got there, the first thing I saw was.......... a coop full of chickens. She is getting over run with eggs. She gave me a whole GOB of eggs fresh from her coop today. Yeah, I have been looking for ones to buy on here and this way I will get more practice before I spend any money on silkies, which is what I really want.

I have my first pip!!! Came home from Thanksgiving dinner and found a tiny crack in one of my eggs. Not even one of the ones that was wiggling earlier. I am SO excited. It is from one of B/B/Sp silkie eggs.

out of the 22 eggs that went into lockdown i have 6 out of 7 WLxRIR hatched the other pipped. 1 out of 2 OEGBxRIR pipped. and 2 out of 10 seramas hatched no pips on the others yet. oh yeah, i also have 1 out of 3 silkies pipped. keeping my fingers crossed that they will all make some progress during the night.
