Thanksgiving Menu? Whats going to be on your table?

My 51 pound turkey...but I wont be carrying it to the table!
Pies:
Chocolate cream
blueberry
cherry
tollhouse
Potato rolls
homemade cranberry sauce
date nut bread
date filled cookies
corn
greenbeans peas
squash
meat stuffing
bread stuffing
Looking forward to the day, I acutally want to steal a bit of pie before bed...but Im not going to do it! I am so tired from all the baking

I'm kinda stressed this year so we're bailing on my in-laws and my side isn't doing doodly...

Instead I'll cook drumsticks (store bought smoked and frozen) in the toaster oven, mashed potatoes (store bought produce, but after that I'm good), sweet potatoes (ditto), spinach (frozen), broccoli (frozen), green beans (frozen), corn (frozen), stuffing (box) and cherry (store bought crust and canned filling) and pumpkin pie (totally frozen) at home... with homemade rolls (from scratch)... and cranberry sauce from a can... Not much, but we're thankful to have it..

No industrial oven here, but it fit with an inch to spare all around. Cooked in 11 hours and made 3 gallons of gravy. You can see some pics on the turkey index I posted them Tuesday or yesterday, beautiful bird and the samples have been yummy. family should be arriving any minute.

Just DH and me, but I had big plans- but I've been sick for 3 days now, and the big plans are out the window.

So it's been scaled back:

10 pound turkey, roasted
herb stuffing and gravy
sweet potatoes
green bean casserole

That's about all I'm up to, and trust me, it's better to keep him away from the kitchen! Not a division of labor thing, it's just
that I am the better cook of the two!

Leftover turkey will become turkey tetrazzini and turkey frame soup, there won't be any leftover stuffing after we eat today and tomorrow! Sweet potatoes won't go to waste either- NEVER get between me and a sweet potato with butter, s & p. Just making a small green bean casserole, as a nod to our fifties upbringing!

You guys have some fabulous feasts, Happy Thanksgiving!

Well I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

It was just my sister, her boyfriend (soon to be husband I hope), my ds and my roommate so it was not a big thing and I did not use any fancy china or anything, but I did make my first turkey that I raised myself

as well as a pumpkin pie from scratch (came out ok, not enough spices) Gravy from the drippings (that came out great as did the turkey) and the usual fixings

The most fun was that DS had seen them make a cornucopia on TV to use as a center piece. He collected some of the squash we had grown and harvested along with our smallest pumpkins that we had grown as well and all I needed to do was get the actuall horn (cornucopia) part. Well it was not that easy as on Wed when I went to Michael's they did not have any. So I bought some plaster wrap and when we got home I made a frame out of some extra wire I had from the electric fence and we plastered it (like paper mache)
as ds painted it Thanksgiving morning. After drying it with the blow dryer we had our Cornucopia to use for years to come and start a new tradition. I am going to spray it with sealer today before I put it away in the attic.

as you can see he is very pleased. I tried to get him to collect more leaves but he only wanted the small red ones from my Jap. Maple and "no yellow leaves, only red!"

and then my ds next to it after putting it together
