Thats Not Trash! Repurposing for chickens

i love free and recycled! Our next boxes are also drawers we got from our local Restore. Great minds think alike. Our silkie run is a free dog run that was damaged and given to us for free. my husband used some fencing we had in the garage to repair the holes and voila! Silkie run. Our silkie coop was made out of a potting bench that my husband made a few years ago and the top got warped. The new roof is the leftover tin from the big girls coop. I bought some big pans at a yard sale to put their dinner treats in. The duck house is a dog house igloo bought at a yard sale for $20. The pond liner for the duck pond we hope to build soon was $25 at a yard sale. The stain on my coops was leftover from restaining the kids playset.

Repurposing is great. We had a old dishwasher that was broken, it is now a giant feed storage container. It can hold like 200lbs of chicken food.

The inside of my coop walls is covered with 8"x1" lap board that was stripped off of a friends neighbors house.its was painted blue so just turned it around and the back was rough sawn so it gives a nice appeal. The cost was a 10min ride and about an hour to pull the old nails.Part of my run is a dog kennel my brother bought and never used. Free is good.
