I’ve got at least 14 bad air cells. But I put them in anyway, I figure now is as good a time to learn.

They look marginally better then when they arrived so I’m hoping some of them come through. I had enough space to pop some turners out and get cartons in.

I have a question on dark eggs... I’ve weighed every egg and I can’t really see in some of the marans eggs even with a real candler.

This may be a dumb question, but does the air sac continue to develop whether or not the embryo is developing? Is weighing just for humidity control or does it also tell you viability?

15 eggs going in this afternoon. BLRW large fowl.

My son wants chickens and something "rare". He really likes my Plymouth Rocks and winning trophies at the local fair with them but decided he wanted something different...

Found some nice Wyandotte just a few hours drive from me. Both he and I are sick and decided a long drive for Easter hatching eggs is better than watching cartoons all morning. We just got back, eggs resting from the pothole obstacle course Vermont roads are. Saw his flock in person. Some nice birds, one of the three pens I wouldn't have been breeding. Eggs are collected from all three so we'll see what we get.

Thanks, I will take a look. I only mentioned not breaking the bank because when I looked for posts about candlers for green eggs, a lot of people were recommending these high-powered rechargeable flashlights for $80+. :th My regular flashlight works great for all other egg colors, but these green ones are so hard to see through!

One of my EE girls laid another egg about half an hour ago, so I went ahead and added it to my EHAL batch. So, whoever is tallying the number of eggs set, make that 8 eggs for me, not 7.

I haven't candled a green egg that I'm incubating with mine but I have done a green egg. Much better than a flashlight.

I just did the same:oops:. My little silkie just layed one and I wasn’t sure which of the others are herS so I labeled it with her name on it and stuck it in.

I sold one of her November babies that was a gorgeous black and I sort of regret it.

Haha I had all my eggs picked out and decided at the last minute to put in two white Leghorn eggs. So then I had to bump two eggs... it was like Sophie’s choice.
