View attachment 1720746 My 7 yr old Easter Egger, Nana, layed me an egg today ! I’m going to put her egg and 3 others in the incubator right now ! I wasn’t planning on doing this, I already have 14 in the brooder, but now I just have to. She’s was one of my first chicks and is totally spoiled. Here she is with her much younger man , Mr Speckles II.

Ugh I never checked that the turner was working in my new Brinsea Ovation when I set it up and calibrated everything. Didn’t notice them move today and tonight decided to change the interval to 5 minutes to ensure they turn.... and they don’t.


Hmmmmmm. Can’t find much on troubleshooting it either...

That’s my plan, thanks. I’m just glad I noticed tonight I can turn them by hand until they open.

I set 60 chicken eggs today. They are mostly EE and OE with a chance of pure Ameraucana and CCL.

I checked my duck eggs and only six appear to be fertile and developing. I moved the others off the turner to make room and set more duck eggs. Hopefully a staggered hatch won’t mess me up too much.

My 12 Bresse are in, went in around 11:30 am. I will be setting 20 Quail eggs on Monday or Tuesday.

I would like to participate in the Hatch-a-long for Easter. Today I set 7 Silkies in my Brinsea Mini Advance Incubator. They were shipped from Papa's Poultry in CA. I candled them before setting them today and they all look good. I'm crossing my fingers that I get at least half that hatch.

I'm not sure how this works but I'm starting 16 Marans eggs today. It was a secret stash but they all look fresh and viable. 13 from my BBC and 3 from my BBS pens. Lighter egg is just for comparison (store bought).

I set 12 eggs from my cream legbar roo ... 5 buff orp/ccl, 3 rir/ccl, and 4 pure ccl plans to keep the majority... can't wait to see what they look like !

I set 36 chicken eggs today. Most of them should just be mixed breeds. I had a silkie rooster and an EE rooster over 2 RSL, a Black Australorp, a Egyptian Fayoumi, a Naked neck, and a Buff Brahma cross breed hen.
