Out of 67 eggs I'm down to 52 live eggs.

Well day 7 candle shows the same 11/18 developing so I'm happy. There is one I need to take a picture of because when I candle I see veins and movement...but only on one side of the egg. If I look in from the other side it looks like a clear. Strangest thing I've seen when candling. Anyone else ever see such a thing?

Okay here’s what I think is an air cell (it’s hard to see in these, it’s a bit darker in person but still kinda light) and the other egg with what I think is a near perfect air cell. Also, you can’t really see, but in the first egg, there is something dark and swishy moving around which I think is the yolk? So I’m pretty sure the thing on the side is the air cell? Included some pictures of the end so you can see there is no air cell on the ends. At least that I can see. And I found a dark area to get better pictures. But am I correct in assuming that is the air cell? And if so... totally weird, right??

Does the air cell move? If it moves then it is detached from the top where it is supposed to be. If it does not move, then it attached in the wrong spot.

The Chalazae at the big end holds the air cell in place. The yolk is suspended by it.

@KDOGG331 theres a thread @aart started on this AND she was incubating the eggs. I think the eggs quit, but some various comments on side air cells.

Thank you!!! I will have to check out that thread!! Seems like an interesting read. And okay good! I wasn’t sure cause I don’t really know very much about hatching or incubating so I thought maybe I was wrong ha

Out of the 8 Marans eggs, 7 are showing good development! These are shipped eggs from Missouri so I’m really happy with that.

I stopped at that one because I was overwhelmed and excited. How dumb is that? But I wanted to make sure I was cool and calm to get my weights tonight. Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

I have dancing embryos in 8 of my silkie eggs, yay! The other 7 are mostly clears with a couple early blood rings. Considering they were shipped I'm pretty happy with the 8, and I'm really happy that all the air cells are attached in the developing eggs, now I just hope I don't get too many quitters along the way!

Not dumb at all. It's so exciting to see movement inside the egg! I almost dropped the egg the first time I saw movement.

15 total eggs set for the hatch-a-long.

Sorry if this post is redundant, this is my first time participating in a hatch-a-long, I'm just trying to make sure my total was clear.

Bolded hatch totals are much appreciated. Not having to read rambling posts with addition required speeds up the time it takes to read 500 posts by a lot. Thank you!

I ended up setting a measly total of two eggs for the hatch along. My bantams still are barely laying, and they're the only birds I wanted to hatch from.
