I’m in! This will be my very first time hatching. :celebrate

I’m going to hatch some Cream Legbars for eggs mostly and then a few Opal Legbars, some marans, and hopefully one other DP breed that I haven’t chosen. I’m going to process the cockerels of each as I’m looking for a breed I’d like to work with and have a little meat from the extra cockerels so I’d like to try a couple. Any suggestions on additional breeds would be great.

Super excited to get help here!
Welcome. I’m trying the Bielefelders now but too early to tell. I did like the Marans.

It was just me silly saying to order them that way :)

Ohhh okay. I figured it was a joke/being silly, like saying to order/set them as soon as possible after getting the incubator rather than waiting a while like I thought, but I wasn’t sure LOL sorry, probably way overthinking it. I have a tendency to do that.

and then a few Opal Legbars,

Pretty sure I'm going to need to know more about these! They sound gorgeous! Any pictures?

Editing to add, oh, WOW, I did some searching on them!

Needless to say, I'm jealous!!

I bought a trail cam think there is a 2 legged egg thief fairly new neighbor bought one dozen when they first moved here now went from 12 - 14 a day last year to 4 ???
Two legged thieves are the worse. I was going to get one because the White Cornish tend to fall over and can’t right themselves and then die. Apparently it doesn’t take much time before they have succumbed to being upside down. With the camera I could look in on them and possibly save them. One rooster had been doing that but he seems stable now.

Hi Peeps!
Is there still time to join the hatch a long? I'm planning to do another classroom hatch this year, mixed mutts from my laying flock. Boy, do we still have tons of snow!
TSC had chicks yesterday when I went to buy grain. The Brahma chicks were VERY tempting! But I resisted. ...For now.
There sure is. Welcome to the group.

Ya this morning went out put a padlock on our lower gate BF worked for Simpson timber 40 years had one of their locks good solid hung the key where we can get it mostly the son he has a mule he moves food and shavings from the car to coops not used much else but noticed the newer neighbor was quick to open the lower gate when he comes over

Be curious to see what else you find crawling around out there
