6 EE / OE's
7 Blue Sex links
21 Australorps

9 Aracaunas
6 Speckled Sussex
12 Blue Bantam cochins

and 3 Australorp eggs for my little broody Mille cochin !!!

64 total !!

I'm late because, I had to do some research, here on BYC. I posted earlier about the dirty eggs I recieved asking for help in deciding what to do.
You guys are sooooo willing to help. Many had good suggestions and a few pointed me to some very helpful articles.
So I decided to clean those nasty eggs. I figured what do I have to lose, I wasn't going to put them in the bator like that. So now we wait and see.

Thank you for all the advice & help. It's awesome when experienced people ( enablers ) come together to help a novice in a new hobby ( addiction )

Aww, poor Happy Chooks. You definately your hands full. Lots of new additions today and everyone posting how many eggs they have. Do you need some help? Want me to do a cliff notes version of certain pages for you?

ETA - Not to mention those of us whose chicken math skills seem to show up when we are trying to count how many eggs we are setting lol

We are hatching our very first eggs in a home-made incubator my husband built. I was SO excited to stumble onto this page of Backyard Chickens and see how many people started eggs the same day we did! We put them into the incubator at around 12am Saturday morning March 9th. It is our hope they will hatch March 30th. Is it too late to join the this Hatch-A-Long?

6 Blue Americaunas
4 Barnevelders
8 Black Copper Marans
So 18 in all...

The mail order place mixed up the order though...we were SUPPOSED to receive 6 Americaunas, 6 Barnevelder and 6 BLUE copper Marans, so we'll see if they will correct the mistake. I went ahead and put them all in the incubator though because it was too late to reach anyone Friday when we got the eggs and I didn't want to take the chance of losing what we received. Maybe we will get 8 more though...I REALLY wanted those Blue Copper Marans!

The incubator temperature seemed low this morning (between 96.8 and 97), so it climbed very SLOWLY from midnight until 9am up to 101 and has now leveled out between 99.5 and 100, although not all our thermometers agree on the exact temperature. Does anyone know if having a temperture as low as 96 for the first 5-8hours will kill the embyos?

Here's to a great hatch day March 30th!
