Hey!! I resemble that comment...Aww, poor Happy Chooks. You definately your hands full. Lots of new additions today and everyone posting how many eggs they have. Do you need some help? Want me to do a cliff notes version of certain pages for you?
ETA - Not to mention those of us whose chicken math skills seem to show up when we are trying to count how many eggs we are setting lol
AHA! There you are Sally! Folks were asking about you. Hope everything's ok!
Good luck to everybody setting eggs today! I set my duck eggs for the hatch along last week, and I candled them tonight. Out of the twelve eggs i put in, only one is clear. The rest have little duck embryos....I took some picture on my phone, but I doubt you can see them clearly.
You can kind of see some veins, and a dark little embryo...ugh the eggs look so much better in person! These pictures are just to blurry, but 11 of the 12 eggs are all doing fine.![]()

Jess - hoping for a great hatch for you!OK here goes.....
A new all time high for me, I am setting 76 eggs.....11 from the swap(had 12 but I accidentally broke one putting them in the bator) and 65 from my own stock. 38 in each tray, 3 blank spots for the wiggler and 1 by the motor in each turner. Here are the verification pics... I actually found some water wigglers at the dollar store to put my thermometers in works like a champ and they do not fluctuate at all now. I feel allot more comfortable about the actual temp of the eggs now.
Here is a pic of my broody and her week old chicks, 3 of the seven of them anyway. I just love the markings of the chick on the left....looks like Eddie Munster!
I'll get a better pic in a day or two to show you guys.
I've got it on its side!I've read that they need to be incubated on their side and not in a turner due to the formation of an air pocket at each end otherwise when it's time to pip one drowns and dies.....Hope they both hatch for ya![]()
