As a reminder, post pictures of your total eggs set for the hatch - so we can record them and get the "How many will hatch contest going". The eggs need to be set between 3/7-3/11 to qualify for this hatch.
My photos will not load. I've tried well over a dozen times..

I absolutely would do some research online even if I could hold him over a few days while I waited on what he really needed! Cranberry juice is always my go to, listen to these other folks and try something! Don't give up! Trying something is better than nothing, at least you know you gave him a good fighting chance! I hope he pulls through, UTI's are horrible.

I have a quick question off topic for a sec sorry. I read a few of you who do maple syrup. Ive been wanting to try it for some time and my DH bought me a tap and a bucket so we went outside and found what we think may be a maple tree and tapped it and clear water like fliud immediatley began to flow. I read maple sap looks similar to water. Do all trees have clear sap like that or are we correct that we tapped a maple? Im a wicked newbie with maple trees but thought it couldnt hurt to try. I LOVE REAL MAPLE SYRUP! Any tips would be great

I guess the thirteenth time is the charm. It finally worked!

7 SFH eggs set at noon on the ninth and tomorrow the 11th, I'll be setting some more. Photos of those once they're set.

I have a hatching/incubating question. I am not sure what I am doing wrong. I set eggs due to hatch today and see nothing. no pips, no chicks nothin. Humidity is 65% and it's 100 degrees in the incubator. What am I doing wrong?

Have you candled to see whether they developed?

i have a question.... i have heard on here some folks using vinegar in chicks and chickens water...
and i also read another place online of them putting a tablespoon of sugar in a qt of water for newly born chicks
what are the thoughts on this? the vinegar (with mother)sounds interesting since i know it is great for humans and helps build
the immune system but anyhow i should have chicks soon and meant to ask this earlier and kept forgetting! THANKS!!

another thing is our neighbor has chickens and doesn't use medicine to keep them healthy but uses natural things he "worms" them with
cyanne in the summer and fall.....any thoughts on this also would be helpful!!

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE !!! I set a little after 3 yesterday. Unfortunately we discovered our dog. Phoenix a boxer, had a stroke:( It made him blind in right eye and right side of face drooped. He stumbles but it does look like he will pull through. We have had him since a puppy. He is 9 yrs old now. Its amazing how you can get so attached to animals. He is family to us along with our chickens.

I see he pulled through? I thought you had lost him...I'm sooo happy for you! I lost my Golden Last year, soo sad to lose our pets. It's very hard. I had a Golden before him, that we had to put down due to age related problems. So hard. I hope your boy continues to do better and better. :))

Question - I have one lone chick in the hatcher and can see no more pips. Today is day 20 for that batch. Should I take that one out and put it in the brooder alone or leave it til another hatches? It was born early this morning (daylight.)

I would leave it till tomorrow morning. Its' chirping in there will hopefully encourage the others to show themselves.
