Well, that;s the thing about Easter Eggers, they are really just cross breeds that carry the blue egg gene. They could look like anything. That's what makes them so fun!

Today is set day for Coturnix Quail

We want to hatch on March 30th, (the day BEFORE Easter Sunday)
button quail: 16 days to hatch; set March 14th
coturnix quail: 18 days to hatch; set March 12th
When I've hatched coturnix they seem to hatch on day 16 1/2 or 17. Does that mean my incubator is too hot? I'm keeping my temp where it was for this next hatch because I got such a good hatch rate with them. But I'm sure it was just the incubating gods were on my side last time.
I'm hoping it's not set to high for these chicken eggs I have in for the hatch along.
I'm gettin more coturnix eggs this week but decided not to enter them in the hatchalong. I'm going to wait a few days so they hatch after Easter.
