I did it!! I candled!!

I candled my eggs again today!! ALL OF THEM ARE DOING LOVELY!! I have had no duds or "questionable" eggs yet. I got to see some great movement in all the eggs, and even some beak & foot action. Loved it. I really was expecting to be able to take some out days ago! I've been having to hand turn them because there are too many for my automatic turner. I'm lazy... I'd like to use my turner. LOL

Another Barred Rock egg that I was debating putting in the incubator. It's quite porous... but I'm glad I put it in, the chick is doing just fine so far.



We're on the home stretch... What day are most people going to lockdown? I was thinking I wanted to lock down a day early give the chicks another day to get into position. I'm a bit concerned with my Easter Egger eggs. They're fairly small eggs, and my brahma rooster is a big boy! Hopeing the chicks aren't going to be too big... We'll see.

My buff brahma died today. went out and she was lying upside down under the roosts, as though she passed and fell off.

Is there a consolation prize for worst hatch rate? I just candled and all my eggs save one are infertile

I'm so bummed. Apparently I'm just not meant to have Marans, and to just keep blowing money for no reason .

even the best incubators cant grow a chick when their isnt one.

were they local or shipped?

I opened them to check fertility, and there was no blastoderm at all. I contacted the seller, but this may turn into a paypal dispute. So depressing.

It is day 15 as of this afternoon and two of my eggs are rockin'. I am freaking out. Oh my gosh, oh my gosh! This is madness. I'm so excited. I have 15 eggs that are still going strong. And they are shipped eggs!
