What did you line it with? Want to build me a nice big cabinet incubator/hatcher maybe this summer, taking notes. :)

I'm in for Easter! Not sure with what, yet, but something!

Well it is a 2x4 frame with the inside board being a dry-earse board cut to 20"x20" and caulked all the seams with outdoor window caulking, I did this due to the humidity. It is insulated with styrofoam from the local pet store. They get fished shipped in them and are rather large. I just cut it up to fit and layered it to take up all the space in the walls. Holds the temp and humidity really well.

I"ll work on that...have to find the camera first!

Sounds like a plan.
Tomorrow I am going to take some pics if my birds. I id some butchering last fall and have some new blood in the chicken yard. Most of my EE's are pullets and have started laying big and really dark green eggs. I am going to cross them with the White jersey giants.

I am definitely in, I so enjoyed last years!!!!! This will give me an excuse to try out my new Bator I just built. It is definitely the most extravagant one I ever built. It has a incubator side and a hatcher side. The best part it is 99.9% ( except screws and nails and a thermostat) made from recycled/re-purposed materials. Other than the time invested it only cost me about $50. Here are the pics

Wow, that's awesome! Were the egg turners recycled?

I so wish i could join in on this hatch along.... But i have to find homes for my two beautiful roo's since i live in the city part of my town so wish i could aford to move out and buy a new house to bad i cant just figure some way to stop them from crowin... then it wouldnt matter SIGH!!!!

I have the exact same problem. I'm making a rooster coop that will stay in our patio facing north to help keep it cool, and I'm making it as sound dampening as possible. The boys will be allowed a little outdoor time, but not much. It's not the best thing possible, but I don't want to kill them either. When I finish this thing, I'll post pictures, but knowing me, it'll be a while

In the mean time, my creve boys are just starting to crow (they honk like geese,

) and my sultan is living in the house with us! I think wanting to get them outside asap might speed me up on making this thing. If I can't keep the boys quiet, they will have to go. Even so, I'd like to find homes for two of them anyway?? Ugh, so hard!

That's really a great job!
CLUCK we NEED you!!! you HAVE to find a way!!! I hear they have a new traveling bator! Its called the backseatbator!!
LOL, tell ya what, I'll try to put eggs in starting on Easter, LOL I'm just not going to be around to turn those eggs! I REALLY wish I could join though, but the eggs I'd like to hatch would be from my Crevecoeur chickens, and they're too young yet (the pullets, the cockerels are already fertilizing my older girls!!!) Ah well...........

Hummmmmmmmmm, if I got egg turners... I could join, LOL

Man am I a glutton for punishment!

Husband punishment!

I'm there with you! Lets just say that my wife and I do not share the same passion for my birds

. So I just do and ask for forgiveness, much easier than asking for permission!!!

Dry-erase board....cool! Have been contemplating liners for a homemade nice large incubator. Great idea.
