I might have broody! One of my younger game hens has been on the nest all day. If she's still there tonight and tomorrow at set time I'll be putting my duck eggs under her. I know most people wouldn't put much stock into a young broody, but my game hens have always been fantastic brooders even from a young age.

Today I got my first incubator (its my birthday)! So excited to start hatching eggs. I have it all setup and getting it to the right temperature. I have all my ducky eggs collected up and ready to go in (except for the ones I will get tomorrow). Can't wait to set my first set of eggs tomorrow at noon!

I'd love to join in, but I'll be getting my eggs tomorrow and Tuesday.. I don't know that it would be a good idea to wait that long to set them would it?

Out of the eggs I set last week around half didn't develop or stopped developing around day 3 or so. So space has freed up in my one bator and with the amount of overtime my husband is working I don't see him building a bator before next weekend. Looks like I'm going to be doing a staggered hatch in my one bator. I'll probably just get some more eggs from the guy down the street, he's got Buff Orpingtons and Wyandottes. They are all together though so they're mostly going to be mixes.

yay!! my cuckoo maran is BROODY!!!

i wil lhave two batches going on for the hatch along, one in my brinsea and one under Miss cuckoo. She will feel a little cuckoo once shes caring for all her chicks!
