Yaaay! Progress! I got the thermometer working and put it in my incubator. Cranked up the heat on the incubator, too, so at least I'm closer to getting the temp to what I want. I am dying to set these eggs.

Ok red, which ones are you setting? You are setting eggs, and, have a broody. Go Red! You should see your little ones I hatched from you. I have fallen in love with the second one that hatched. It doesn't have as much a fluffy face as the first, but there is a lot of blue coming out on it, and the back is dark brown. This is going to be a pretty bird, and it's looking girly.

Wow Sally, great pics! Awww, so cute! Hmmm...silkies sure are popular. Do they do well in a mixed, standard flock?

OMG oz I just sold all the ameraucana I hatched, I felt so bad too!! but DH saw my feed bill so I knew I better start letting go!
Now I need another cochin lover and I am good until this next big batch hatches the end of this week!

I have my silkies in a dog house turned silkie pen and I never had them in with my LF so I am not sure!

Silkies are a bantam. Some raise them successfully with a LF flock. I personally would not. I have a separate building for bantams. I do however have my silkie chick in with other LF chicks. I have other silkies in the incubator and when they hatch all the silkie chicks will be together. When I do hatches, I will put new LF hatches in with silkies until they start to feather out. Silkies are good adopters to chicks.
