Joining in here... I see many friends already beat me here...so thanks to some friends, I am corrupting a neighbor into getting chickens and hatching some for her as well as me. Setting some whit rocks, cherry eggers, olive eggers, Marans and polish. Hoping our silkies give us a few to put in also...
This is not my second time hatching with an incubator and we are installing a fan as soon as it comes in next day or two. Hoping the hovabator does well. Fingers crossed

I went to meet someone buying hatching eggs, then went to the library and on the way in the drive planned to pick up the egg cooler --I bring them in each night when it is cold to prevent frozen eggs. The cooler was GONE !!!!!!!!!!!

Apparently someone stole my egg cooler and the eggs,

I've been putting out eggs for a year and a half with no problems. I can't afford another cooler like that one, and my nice money container . . . . . IT was all worth, what?, $20 for eggs and cooler? I really am so upset.

I can replace the eggs, but not the cooler.
Their mother must be very proud of them.

Thanks for the laugh!!

I rechecked the car in case one of the kids picked it up when I picked them up at the bus. . . . NO NO NO, not in the car. DH said he did not pick it up, because he thought I already got it,, that would have been about 5:30-6pm. I drove down the drive , parked and looked around with a flashlight. Nope. NOwhere. THe last time I checked it was when I picked up one of the boys. So between 2:30 and 5:30 it was taken.

THis is such a hard time of year to find a cooler.

OMG-- and that cooler was used as communication with some of my customers. If it was out, it had eggs, I made sure of it; when it is not there, customers will not stop, except for a few that are rather demanding and will drive all the way to the house for their eggs!! I guess I should appreciate their loyalty! lol

So frustrating, not like I make enough to feed the birds with what I get for my eggs.

I can't help wonder if this was meant to be, and now is the time to stop selling eggs. IDK. I love making farm fresh free range eggs available.

I just candled the seven eggs I swapped out from under my broody last night. Not a single one of them is developing, dangit. I was hoping that at least one would be going, but all I can see are the air cells and yolks. Even late starters would show veining on day 7, right?

Well I am a firm believer That what goes around comes around and when it comes around it is generally thrice as bad. That's why I try to be the best person I can although sometimes I fall short.
