This prolapsed hen we rescued is SOOO frustrating! It doesn't look that bad, never more than an inch out at the most, she laid an egg yesterday and the day before without trouble. The prolapse goes back in pretty easily with very little help, but the problem is that she pushes it back out EVERY TIME SHE POOPS! I am not sure what else to do! Yes, this is only the third day after we started treating her, so maybe she will eventually learn to hold her innards IN on her own? I tried to wrap her up last night as suggested in this article, but it was a total failure. Didn't keep it in and a big mess to unwrap in the morning. Must not have wrapped it right, but I don't know how else to do it! I have resolved to give her a week at least before giving up. Praying for some results soon!

I made this bottle waterer for my chicks yesterday. Reason I made it upside down was to leave cap loose and let air in. First one I tried was in the cap. It would get air locked. It works great. No more changing water all the time from them dirtying it

You have given it a good shot, the tissues need time to heal and the swelling to shrink. Might need more time, like another week. Remember how long it takes a cut to heal . . .healing talks7-10 day.

I had a ewe with a problem like that, we put her in a horse trailer on a slanted board to use the weight of the uterus to pull itself in. Sorry you can't do that with a hen. But giver her 7-10 days and then reevaluate your options.
