GOOD MORNING EVERYONE !!! I set a little after 3 yesterday. Unfortunately we discovered our dog. Phoenix a boxer, had a stroke:( It made him blind in right eye and right side of face drooped. He stumbles but it does look like he will pull through. We have had him since a puppy. He is 9 yrs old now. Its amazing how you can get so attached to animals. He is family to us along with our chickens.
oh I am so sorry michaelf

so little ol' me was sitting there washing eggs last night, and as I put these two eggs under water i was like, WAIT I WANNA SET THESE EGGS. so, i set them after they had dried. but my question is, when you wipe the eggs off the bloom comes off and they are more porous. I didnt wipe these eggs off, just wet them then set them down. Are they going to be okay?

Aww, poor Phoenix! That's too bad. Yeah, he'll do alright, not to worry. I've seen a few dogs pull thru some amazing things!
Tortoise eggs, wow! Very interesting! I'd love to see pics of those when they hatch too!
Twin goose eggs! Yowza! This is my first hatch-a-long & its SO exciting!!! Loving the variety & sheer volume of eggs, lol!

Me thinks my estimate for # of eggs set, was way low! I'll know better next year

I have a twin Tortoise egg incubating. It's two separate eggs attached at the ends

LG temperature is 102 on the top left corner and 97 in the bottom right corner. It has a fan. The turner is off until the shipped eggs settle a bit. I am SO frustrated and don't know what to do. I have over $200. worth of eggs in the bator. I went inside and felt the eggs and the 102 were very warm and the 97 were very cool. I have all new Accurite therms. Any ideas?

I use sealed fish tank thermometers and make sure they all read the same in the store. They aren't affected by humidity like some others. You can see the type I use in the cheat sheet in my signature.

You could try to add a small fan to move more air, but I'd go ahead and turn the turner on to see if that changes things. what kind of incubator are you using?

okay - day one - I cant seem to get the humidity right.... it was working fine with my "test" eggs, wouldn't you know...

i read about adding sponges to help. am i adding sponges to reduce the humidity or increase it??

using a hava-bator with fan; and egg turner
