I finally got the pic to load !!!
Here is the first one that pipped and it keeps sticking its beak out chirping !!!
It pipped yesterday evening

Okay, I am having a hard time giving up on these Icelandic eggs. I candled a couple again tonight. Here's a video of my cracked egg that I put under my broody. Sorry, my hands always shake, and I'm turning the egg slowly so you can see more of the embryo inside. Does anyone think this egg looks good? Bad? Should that embryo be squirming around? I thought I saw it jump a little right at the end..........but I don't know. My eyes have been pretty strained lately. Direct video link, for those whose computers do not play nice with this:
Here's a still picture of the same egg:
Do you see how the egg white sloshes as you move it? And no visible veins? That's a quitter. so sorry!
I'm a first time incubator: So I see in a few photos that some people have double stacked eggs on the turner. Does that work? They won't roll around/fall off when it turns? (Very excited if it means I can fit more eggs next try. :D )
Perfect example of a daily hint: Hint: When practicing the art of Egg Tetris, it's better to place bantam or smaller eggs on top, and to leave eggs out of the space directly beneath the heating element, as the top layer will naturally be hotter the entire incubation period. edited because my phone hates byc & Autocorrect thinks 'batsman' is a word.

Whew! Had a bit of a scare last night!

There were some high wind gusts and our power went out around 3:30AM!!! Might not have woke up in time but my brother heard the pipes gurgling downstairs and we heard my sister's runner ducklings peeping loudly because their heat lamp had suddenly gone out! So relieved to find that the incubator was only down to 99F! It dipped to 96F briefly while they were setting up the generator (thank God we have a nice new BIG one that we got last fall! It runs the whole house!) and then the incubator quickly warmed back up to its usual 100.6F! PHEW!!!

Thankfully it was just a quick fix and the main power was back on by 7:30 AM.

Except for some lost sleep everything is fine.

Ohhhhh! That makes much more sense! Thanks! I thought it was some strange code that I had to figure out or something!
