So I have no idea what's going on with my eggs. I do know that the broody was NOT happy about me getting in there. She was all kinds of

. It was kinda funny watching her be all mad at me. But as soon as I closed the pen back up, she went right back on the eggs. *Good Girl* So it looks like I'll just have to wait and see on the 30th.

Just checked on where my new Brinsea incubator was and.... IT'S OUT FOR DELIVERY!!!!!!

SO looking forward to getting that. Now, the question is, do I have the patience to wait till my Silver Ameraucanas are laying to put eggs in the bator??? We will see (I doubt it though)

oh no you cant wait. You have to have test hatches! Practice makes perfect!

We had tornados here in DeKalb county Alabama yesterday. We were out of power all afternoon and night and my incubator with 20 cream legbars and 14 sulmtalers were at 72F degrees by the time power was restored despite being wrapped in quilt. My parents had some damage at their house and I will go up this morning to clean up for them.

That's what I am trying to tell the husband... I usually get my way anyway but we'll see. I am going to pull the Silvers down to the breeding pen today. I am hoping that the 2 bigger hens are laying. The Brinsea holds 24 so I'm hoping to get at least half that in there in a 6 day span. I might have to set some EE eggs to fill in the empty spots LOL

will keep my fingers crossed for those eggs!!

Can I ask for some advice? I can't remember who, but one of you put a couple of cochins in their basement with a heatlamp and within two days they were both broody. I've got two hens, very prone to broodiness, in the garage, with a fan heater, the light on all day and zilch. The heater is costing us a fortune in electricity. I'd like to change, but which would be better, the ceramic bulb or the red one?
