Now, I really know exactly about the anticipation/frustration of waiting for chicks to hatch. My 1st time. Arrgghh. I have read and read for months on end. Finally got the incubator. Wrestled with the temps and humidity. Candled eggs (35) as instructed. Left the eggs alone as instructed. (The most difficult part) Probably 8 or 9 eggs to young but kept them in the group.

Went into to lockdown on 3-16 (day 18) and waited. Today is day 3-19 (day 20). Nail biter!!! Nothing!
I keep trying to remind myself that the eggs could take 3 to 5 days. . .
Eggs looked good and full with nice air sac. . .come on just 1 little egg today, please!!!!

Now, I really understand the highs and lows of trying to hatch those sweet little bundles. Sure makes me appreciate a good broody hen. On a positive note, 2 of our hens went broody on St. Patrick's day (3-17). I remain, encouraged!
