Good afternoon everyone... So much for Spring. It's only about 27* here. It's a cold, blustery day. Didnt get to let the chickens out today as it's been so cold. They are NOT happy about it either
Well, my mom's laptop has finally bit the dust. I can't fix it again. I won't be online as much, but I'll see if I can be on for the contest. I'll catch up every chance I get and try to give updates on my eggs when I can. I'm not dropping out of the hatch just because of a computer acting stupid and not wanting to charge.

The H Kan of 10 posted a chick for identification. Looks like an Australorp but could be a Jersey Giant.
cuppycake accidentally joined the hatch-a-long.
Misskeeter posted an egg candling picture at day 18. Lots of darkness and big veins...
Post 5374 announced the Caption Contest Vote.
Humidity issues were discussed. A lot like the dry hatch method. Misskeeter: I only added water when it fell below
15% humidity for over 24 hours. My air cells look MUCH better this time.
A Broody Bantam Cochins hatched eggs early!
chirpingcricket has a lot of Busy going on but it is all good for them! Chicks are hatching so who cares about
anything else!
mommachick1 can't keep humidity up for hatching. Chicks were shirink wrapped!
jmenson has started a staggered hatch and will create barriers to keep chicks in one side and incubation eggs in
another side. Baby chicks died in shipment by others are coming from another place.
Razadia is compiling a video of an incubation duck egg with double yolks! She posted it on post 5426.
Hurley Posted a picture of deviled eggs:
Chick Li is incubating in a Coleman ice chest! They have veins! The night owls started posting--about night things I
guess.
Tammy N did not get the memo about Not putting rotten eggs into the compost pile.....
The night owls went to sleep finally and then the first Good Morning post from Michaelf.
We are in the candle and toss it or keep it in stage. Eggtopsy is important too

angelobutter has white face black Spanish hatching! Post 5572 has a picture of the first one hatched!
Suggestions were made for contest prizes. A roster kitchen mat, Amazon gift cards and even something to do with fluffy
chicken butts...oh of course hatching eggs...(Sally posted a hint -- a chicken butt picture....)
The contest will be a posting contest. A lot of posts were dedicated to figuring out when it should start. Saturday
8pm to 11pm Eastern time. The there were more posts on how to figure when the was if you were in a different time
zone.

I haven't been on BYC in a few days. Hope I haven't missed much.
Here is the reason I've been so distracted.
My one doe had twins and this one was nearly frozen to death. She is being raised in the house. I tried to put her back with her mom and sister after she warmed up and started eating, but the adult goats started to push her around. Hopefully I can get her back with the herd over the next few days. I really don't want to continue to keep a goat in my house.

My lav ameraucana lays teeny tiny eggs too. I much prefer the temperament of the Cream Legbars to Ameraucana's. All but 1 of my Ameraucana's have been flighty as heck. I once had a 24 week old Ameraucana squeeze herself through the 2 inch by 4 inch non climb fencing. I watched her go right through it trying to get away from me. Took me forever to catch her and get her back in the run.
Sorry on the Birthday - I know someone said it was their birthday. So whoever it is.............Happy Birthday!
