Purple egg layers?!?! What are those? I want some.

Yay, Bantams! Thank you wolftracks so much for donating! I never win anything, ever, lol. I just had great fun doing the funny post contest. Sally has a way of 'egging' you on, ha! Sorry, a little slap happy. Going to bed in a sec. Again, thank you! We are just in the process of designing our banty coop, have Olandsk Dwarves chicks coming next month. Guess we better get a move on with that. Langshans are so lovely!

It wasn't added to the discription, but they are blue, so I hope you like blue birds.

I've candled my eggs a couple times now. There were 4 clears, so I removed them.
All the other eggs look to be growing nicely, and the air cells are nice & large.
I'm not sure about the eggs under the broodies - I candled them Friday night; because we've had quite the cold weather and snow storms, they're not as far along as the ones in the incubator. There were quite a few that I was unsure about - nice veining, but no movement. Of course, I didn't have the camera with me that time, so I can't post the pictures for you to look at.
I'll have to try again before lockdown. But, there were a few eggs that were incredible to watch - I could actually see movement from this black little form!

help...

I set eggs on Saturday the 2nd around 6 p.m.

I have NO pips yet... there was a LOT of rocking going on yesterday all day long, but I just checked again and there is NOTHING...

should I be worried?

I would say them rocking, they are getting into position. Can you here them peeping? Or see any small cracks on the egg shell? With you putting them incubationon the 2nd alot can be factored in. The time you put them in and temp they were incubated at could explain why they are later than you expected .
Were they put in that evening? And was your temp lower? I say give them time. It can take up to 24 hours for them to hatch after pipping and rocking. Or that is my experience. Also how is humidity? There are alot of awesome people on here who can help you. With alot more experience than I. Good luck on your hatch.

YIPPEE. Candled last night and pulled out 7 quitters and/or clears but still have 27 of 51 developing. I could see little toes and movement in 27. There an an additional 5-6 that are questionable. I know a lot can happen in this next 7 days but so far so good! I have one air cell that is completely sideways. It was a perfectly rounded Barnevelder egg that I may have placed wrong side up. Should I leave it one it's side with the air cell up? I have no idea which end the air cell should be in due to the shape. I am getting really anxious for next Saturday!

well the temp was spot on at 99.5. I was doing dry hatching, and the eggs all lost a variety of weights (from 7% up to 17%), but they averaged out to 12%, which is exactly what the average is supposed to be I thought... The air cells all looked like they were supposed to according to the diagram.

Two have finally pipped, but in WAY the wrong spots.. one is in the middle top of the egg, and one is on the side below where the air cell is.

They are making cheeps, but they sound pretty pathetic compared to cheeps I normally hear once a chick pips. ... I'm feeling worried.
