I LOVE IT SHE MADE MY DAY! She made it for MEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, yup ME myself and I!! how cool a friend is that!
Love me some Coch!!

This is Beautiful!!!

I wish i was home so i could see my babies hatching. My cabinet was chriping like crazy, when i left for work. Only thing that stinks is that, theres no one home to add water to the incubator.
I pray they will do just fine-- the humidity usually increases as they start hatching.

I've done what I can for #5. He's breathing well & getting some rest now. Will wait & see. Sigh!
Sorry I am behind--

glad he's doing as well as possible . . .

Have you ever had an unhatched egg get completely covered top and bottom with a hatched egg? Just did... went to fix between zips to find the interior egg had zipped halfway around. Quickly threw it back in with the warm rag I had handy but am now wishing I would have checked for life. I had marked bad ac on egg. It had like a sloshy/watery substance in the air cell
THe strangest things can happen . . . . let us know what you find if you open it in a few days.

Alright I have 23 hatched and 9 left to go out of my 32 that made it to lockdown from 36 eggs set.

I moved 17 to the brooder and left the rest in the incubator to keep the eggs company and hopefully encourage more to hatch. This is so awesome.
Isn't this just the best!!!?!?!?!!

I absolutely LOVE Vetericyn! Discovered it when one of the horses got bit in the noise by a dog. Cleans, disinfects, heals. This stuff is gold in a bottle! Love it & will never run out.
I've never heard of this!! WIll have to get a bottle!!!

I am getting worried.

I have heard a faint "cheep cheep" several times when I have cheeped and tapped to the chickies. The first time I heard the faint cheep was YESTERDAY around 11 AM!!! It has been over 24 hrs and I still cannot see ANY external pips, at least as far as I can tell by peering in the two windows of my LG with a flashlight. I can't tell which egg is peeping, but if the chick has internally pipped, how long can it breathe before it HAS to pip to survive???

have you had a look at the eggs? SOmetimes the external pip is on the underside. THat can be frustrating. I do open my hatcher to check and poke and listen. The humidity goes back up fairly quickly. Off to check on progress on my chickies . . . .

not sure if you can tell, the chick is completely bent in half with legs stretched out straight in front.

Always something new to see . . . .good luck . . . . let us know if the next couple days sees an improvement. Cynthia, I hope you are right!!

Isn't she a little doll?? My friend already came and picked her up. Since this little one was all alone, she stopped by L&M (our local version of TSC) and bought 2 Black Australorp chicks so she has some friends...
Awwwwww . . . nice to have buddies.

10 out.. only 2 more on the way...I can tell, this is not going to be a good hatch! :(

I've never had one like that, but it does look to have a bit of splayed leg. Here's a site on leg issues in chicks:

So... Stubby's other foot finally fell off. He still seems to get around ok and uses his wings for balance. I am going to move him to his own little well bedded home with maybe one other chicken so he doesn't have to compete for food...

Here are some pics I took last night...
Why did his feet fall off? I must have missed something.
do we post here what has hatched today?
Yup. Also, please let us know when your hatch is done so we can record the numbers.

It's probably dry, just gunky. I leave mine be unless they cannot move body parts. They will work the gunk off and fluff up in a couple of days. You can wash them in warm water, but you have to be careful to not chill them.

Yep, I was behind, didn't see this picture.  Yes, let it just go on it's own. It will start standing on it's own today.   Paddle Walk.  :D

OMG! Thank you! I really hope so, I've not had my chicks do this for so long before. I had a buyer for these guys and told them, forget it, I don't want to sell you chicks with wonky legs. They are coiming tomorrow morning for the chicks, perhaps everyone will be up and around by then.
