My hatch is done, I think. I do have 1 more egg that is still alive, but it hasn't pipped.

I hatched all 17 barnevelders, including one wrong way pipper. 5 welsummers, an olive egger, a cream legbar (cockerel, figures) and 2 BCM's. 26 total.

Correction..........The last welsummer egg just pipped.

Go chickie go!

My neighbor up the road just gave us 8 eggs that should be fertilized. They range in color from light blue to olive green! Sooo excited! Will add them to my 30 I have for another lady wanting chicks! Sure love hatching all these babies!

Three out of four are out and the fourth is pipped! Two cochins, one that was a surprise black sex link and is a girl, yay, and one EE. The other EE I am still waiting on!

Started to help my distressed chick (internal pipped for over 12 hours and starting to sound weak). I could not find its beak, so I was chipping off shell around in a line. Hit a little blood so I stopped. In the meantime, I was letting the incubator heat up (this egg had been under a broody). When I went to put it in the bator to wait....

The incubator was COLD.
I had plugged in the fan instead of the heater. Yikes! So now I have an egg wrapped in warm wet paper towel, stuck in my bra waiting for the incubator to heat up. Thankfully it will do that fast!

Lesson learned...warm up the incubator THEN start the assist.

I came home from work and have two pips! They are both in the wrong end, but at least one of them is chirping away.

Omg lol

LOL...did your chick make it?

My chicks started hatching already, not due until Sunday. It seems like all of the Buff Brahmas are hatching early...is there a reason they would hatch before the others???
