my husband used to be really grumpy whenever I added more chickens/chicks/eggs/incubators, but I just kept going. he doesn't even bat an eye now and we are up to 5 incubators (not including the styrafoam ones) lol...

I've got to hold steady where I am until May. The hatch I'm doing now is the last one, then in May, I can go hog wild (as long as we have eggs for b-fast, DH won't know the difference).

This is what happened with ONE of the many ice snow storms this year so far.... so we had put the net back up but it keeps getting foot size square holes in the top, I keep trying to zip tie the netting but it needs replaced, but until we have some of this stuff thaw out I cant do much of anything. So the birds are somehow getting out, dont know if they hop on the sign the kids made and then hop out or what, but as soon as they are out, our springers are on them :( I lost 3 CCL already and RIR's

I am not letting them out again until I can get at it to replace it completely.

That's a bummer.

The snow is so bad this year. My Duck pen completely collapsed about 2 weeks ago and my chicken yard fence has fallen over also. Winter sure is making a mess with all the animals areas. The snow banks are getting so high one of my goats today realized she could stand upon the snow bank and jump right out and easily I might add. Now im nervous she will keep doing it I tried my best to shovel away some of the compacted icy snow but man its tough.
