They lay egg together too? They will share and raise the chicks together. You are very lucky to have those two. They will not kill each others chicks.

I've always wanted to hatch out an emu egg, but I've been terrified I'd shell out all that money and it wouldn't hatch. Not to mention I have no idea what I would do with an emu.
Yeah, I would be too. I actually hadn't planed on hatching any emu eggs out this year. Just a friend told me that THEIR friend had some emu eggs laid and the boy wasn't sitting on them and wanted to know if I wanted the three eggs...for FREE to hatch. So yeah, I don't think I would have shelled out $90 bucks for three eggs that MAY hatch lol. But I couldn't say no too free fertile emu eggs. I was in one thread were someone was hatching emu chicks who also didn't have the space for them but were selling them a few weeks after they hatched. She said she was getting a pretty penny for them. (I looked up about how much a day old emu chick was and it was about $120 a chick!). So If you ever decide to hatch emu but still don't have space, Once they get beyond cute chick stage maybe you could sell them. (though this would be very hard for me personally since I get very easily attached to animals lol.)

Do you have a pic of the Emu eggs in the incubator?

@Sally Sunshine

Sorry to hear the sad news.

You can't really see them in the over head shot of the incubator but you get the idea lol.

I would be sooo....afraid to give this a try. They are so pretty, and I remember someone that was posting video of their little Emu .. I want to say year before last. It was so cute following the family around and down to the pond..along with the dog, and grandchildren.
