One of Marshies chicks hatched last night! Its a cute little blonde one, so im thinking its part buff laced, since my breeder doesn't separate his colors. I relly hoping its a girl! I also hope the next one that hatches is brown or grey!

The other egg is pipped as well, so it should be out by dinner time. Im relly wanting to buy 2 other ameraucana chicks or polish chicks from my breeder to raise along with these! OH WHAT TO DO!

Sad morning for me...went out to feed the animals and found one of my NYD cockerels dead on the coop floor. He had been acting weird for two days...not eating, just drinking, lethargic (he NEVER lets anyone near him, yet he let me pick him up...after which he threw up on me). I tried to get advice in the emergencies forum, but no luck. I think my head roo...huge EE...got tired of the cockerel mounting his hens when his back was turned and finally drop kicked him...because I cut the cockerel open to see if I could find any reason for his death, and found blood clots and something ruptured inside his abdomen.

His days were numbered, anyway. Both he and his brother are mounting hens which is a no-no. They were both destined for freezer camp this week. I just wish the guy would have gone quick with an ax then having suffered for two days...

On a POSITIVE note, egg #2 from my COB hatched the same day as egg #1!!! Egg #3 went into lockdown yesterday.

So sorry. I hate when that happens. A few weeks ago that happened to my girl Brownie (silkie mix), our favorite sweetest hen. She just wasn't right but looked the picture of health, actually I had never seen her feathers look glossier. She just faded away, no respiratory signs, butt looked great, didn't feel egg bound, nothing. She just died. I was thinking something internal with her.

IKR?!?!??! LOL they go on sale on the 2nd, and they are hatching on the 30th.....so my chicks wont be too much older than them.

@Gardeningmama...... my little duck has a sibling trying to fight its way outof the shell.. its about 3 days late but just internally pipped last night. so we will see... right now I took my last chick to hatch out of the main brooder and put her with the duck to show the duck around. Kinda works well bc Little Chick was being trampled (it hatched 4 days after my other chicks) and they get companionship

I had 5 eggs in due today, just checked, and 3 appear to have died overnight. 2 left and their air cells are small. This is not my year for hatching Calls for sure! Best of luck on yours!

Do you mean the total number hatched for the entire hatch? That will be posted when we have the number. We are still waiting for some to post or PM us their total hatch numbers.

I was so stressed out that I got really sick. They don't know whats wrong with me. I can't eat and I cannot lay down. Its my stomech. They said if i am still hurting in 2 days that I need to have a cat scan....
