Lucky. Your own eggs. I'm working on that for this.
not sure what that egg color would be produced, the layer of that egg is a white hen with like, fluffy feathers around her neck. i forget all the different breeds between americauna or easter egger or what not. my flock is just mixed so pretty much every hatch is a surprise.Lucky. Your own eggs. I'm working on that for this. Those are nice big eggs. Will that middle one .. if a pullet, give an Olive Color? Can't quite tell by the photo if that is a mint green, or a light Olive. Very pretty. Those girls sure started laying big after a break!
Oh yeah, she's incredibly tiny. Her daddy was Andy and I'm not sure which lady was her mama, but it may have been my little Goldie, who even at 2 years old is still laying eggs that would be considered smaller than USDA small. For my July hatch, I intentionally hatched some of the smallest eggs to try to get "micro" bantams cause they are so cute. And Andy was pretty tiny himself, maybe like 18oz, and he fathered that whole bunch. There were 6 surviving chicks from the July hatch. Three hens and three cockrels. I kept only Doodle for his frizzle genes (and he won't be staying permanently as it's too hard to keep more than one roo through the summer at our house and not start to annoy the neighbors with crowing contests). Doodle had two brothers. One was a small red bantam, and one a larger reddish bantam with gold feathers on his neck and fluffy cheeks. The hens are Delilah, Sunshine (who is definately from one of my larger more Polish hens and has wonderfuly light grey feathers with almost a lavendar pattern on them) and Daisy Mae (who is black with gold pattern on some of her feathers and is the kookiest bird ever). Delilah is my smallest bird right now. She's even smaller than my smallest Belgian D'uccle Mille Fleur and they are pretty tiny.Delilah looks super tiny, is she a super small bantam or is it a trick my eyes are playing on me?
Sounds like they are wonderful dogs.mimddh..my Golden's have been great after they got out of the puppy stage. Just had my Girl our there with my today. She loves chasing the ball. The chickens, just get out of her way when she runs past them to fetch.
My two others are also good. One of them is actually afraid of the chickens. Wondering if it would be ok if I posted a photo of when he is going..potty..and there are two chickens staring him down. So funny to see. He's trying to do his business, and here comes the EE every time..and one of the sex links..they just have to bug him. He finishes, and then runs to the door.
That looks really good.
I'm certain whenever I head to TSC my wife calls and pays them to hide the ducklings.I am very tempted to spend my day "window Shopping" TCS and the other local feed stores, just to look at the cute chickies.
Anyone else think that might be a bad idea.
Real maple syrup is delicious. Bees are on my list, too.Nothing like real maple syrup! Definitely on my learn to do homesteading list. And bees. So many projects, so little time. Lol
I have 5 UofA blues out this morning. One of the UofA X Crele Pene Olive Eggers is nearly out.
I have two Black, one blue and two Splash so far.
Genetically, I should wind up with less splash. I have a Blue cockerel covering two Splash and Two blue pullets.
I will get pictures when I can.
Yes! I love the character of his look. His personality is great also.![]()

And the little fuzz butts I bought yesterday are already friendly and curious (and total loud mouths lol)

A video is compiling on Vimeo. It usually takes 40 Min. to finish and then I will post it.
I had like 200 posts to catch up on when getting on, so I finally figured out that everyone is changing their avy's to include a self portrait. It's funny how we mentally picture someone online then see them and it doesn't match at all. For instance, gardeningmama, I pictured you more as a a gardening"grandmama", so your pic of a pretty young lady threw me for a loop lol.I always say that when she changes it, but she always ends up putting it back eventually, lol. And Montana Dolphin's been on here for a bit..and did the New Years Hatch-A-Long with us.![]()
Absolutely love this pic Sally! Such variety in color and texture of the chickens! It belongs on a magazine cover or calendar cover.
