YES!!! my chickens started laying again. they took an (extended) break but I got three beautiful eggs this morning! good, as long as they keep this up I can add some of my own eggs to my incubators for the hatch a long.

Very exciting theat the girls are picking up laying again for you!

Mine have been doing quite well also, Ive been getting between 9-11 eggs a day from 23 girls.

ya i have 35 chickens right now (not all girls) so i expect more than 3 eggs

but it is a start. hopefully they pick up again soon, Some of them were secondhand so they might be getting older and some were just 4 or 5 months old when i got them last fall so they should be laying any day now

I've skimmed, but just in case I missed something....

DST! Remember to Spring Forward those clocks!

Packing in foam discussed. Eggs do better double boxed according to S Sunshine. Oz says the wrong type of foam is often used.

I received nine shipped eggs in perfect condition in foam (the correct size holes for the eggs) and then the foam was wrapped in strip foam and there was a square of the same foam on top of and on the bottom of the foam with holes in it and there was paper under and over the foam. Very well packed eggs, small batch too, not 25-36; that sounds like too many to pack well.
Also, packing as a cube makes more sense to me than packing them flat; isn't a cube box stronger than a flat box???

TeaChick got an egg From Snoodle! DH is the best ever!

(I think it has something to do with Cohin Chicks that showed up at their place today).

He's always the best, but the chicks were a huge feather in his cap yesterday. =D

Lucky. Your own eggs. I'm working on that for this. :) Those are nice big eggs. Will that middle one .. if a pullet, give an Olive Color? Can't quite tell by the photo if that is a mint green, or a light Olive. Very pretty. Those girls sure started laying big after a break!
I can never tell what colors the eggs are for sure- i need to get one of those paint sample sheets to compare them too, here is my best attempt at showing what color her eggs are:

without flash

with flash

last year I took this picture because someone said they were blue but I think they are closer to green though it looks way greener in this photo than the first two. lol

Don't do it! I have 7 new ones because I couldn't stay away! Lol
lol

It just so happened I was saved from the accidental bringing some chicks home mishap... I mentioned to DH about stopping in today and it just so happens DH stopped in last night to "look" at the chicks too and our TSC doesn't get chicks in till next week. I have chicks hatching this Wed. SO Ill have my chick fix and wont need to "window shop".

Blue and green eggs are extremely hard to capture in pictures. Ive been practicing ALOT. I have hundreds of egg pictures. My kids keep asking me "Mom why are you taking pictures of the eggs AGAIN" lol. I tell them because I am in love with my eggs.
