Packing in foam discussed. Eggs do better double boxed according to S Sunshine. Oz says the wrong type of foam is often used.![]()
I received nine shipped eggs in perfect condition in foam (the correct size holes for the eggs) and then the foam was wrapped in strip foam and there was a square of the same foam on top of and on the bottom of the foam with holes in it and there was paper under and over the foam. Very well packed eggs, small batch too, not 25-36; that sounds like too many to pack well.
Also, packing as a cube makes more sense to me than packing them flat; isn't a cube box stronger than a flat box???
Every time I get eggs in a USPS shoe box I cringe. They have no strength as the double layers are on the ends instead of reinforcing the top and also the shape.
that's what was confusing me- they are all from the same hen lol, this pic is from last year and the other two are from the past week![]()
This one is looking like an Olive Egg. Pretty..those other two, I'm not quite sure what color you would call them...I'm guessing, deep sky blue, and goldish green?![]()
ron, strong little baby, fun video..thanks for sharing. Now, to see that little one all fluffed out..will it be blue?
Splash and a pure UofA Blue. I hope it is a cockerel. I need a good one this year to put with the Splash pullets.
See what I can do?
Basic Colors
Blue/Black/Splash (BBS)
Blue x Blue = 50% Blue, 25% Black, 25% Splash
Blue x Splash = 50% Blue, 50% Splash
Blue x Black = 50% Blue, 50% Black
Black x Splash = 100% Blue
Black x Black = 100% Black
Splash x Splash = 100% Splash
NOTES - - Black can NEVER parent a Splash Bird, and Splash can NEVER parent a Black Bird.
