Maaaan, I thought I was safe in coming here "just to observe" because I thought it would be too late to set for an Easter Hatch (based on my recollection of last year's dates).

Crap. Now I have to pick my best incubator, clean and set it up to check its operation, then secure eggs.

Darn you all.

I just bought ten pullet chicks this week, too. Oh well. They're hatchery/feed store stock, so I think I may have to check with Papa Brooder for some good breeders' eggs.

So count me in.

I'm a nest box stalker. Rarely does an egg pop out that I'm not there to catch, lol! I do polish them with a paper towel, but the Marans eggs are ridiculously shiny on their own. These will not be too dark of a green color. My Partridge Pene pullets lay much darker eggs.

To get a truer representation of the color take the pictures outside in the sun. Most Light bulbs shine tinted light. Incandecents shine yellow. Florecent shines green. Halogen goes blue. The only bulbs that will give the closest to real sunlight are the Reveal bulbs and the Full Spectrum lights

I am so jealous! Asparagus is my favorite..and soo expensive. I only get it when it goes on sale. Is it difficult to grow...or even possible in Pa.?
